Group Description

This group is for former employees, railfans, and modelers of the Southern Railway as it existed in the United States of America prior to the creation of the Norfolk Southern in 1982. Please keep questions and discussion focused on the Southern Railway, it's history, employees, operations, locomotives, rolling stock, facilities, and trackage as they existed prior to the 1982 creation of the Norfolk Southern. Posts on the status of surviving locomotives, rolling stock, facilities, and trackage in the post-1982 period are also encouraged as long as they are directly related to the Southern Railway. Posts related to the Norfolk Southern should be posted on the various email lists and forums that exist for that purpose.

This group is not affiliated with the Southern Railway Historical Association (SRHA) or any other group.
