      Thursday,  Oct. 11,  7:30-10:30pm -Songwriter Lineup at Hallenbeck's Cahuenga General Store, 5510 N. Cahuenga Blvd., North HollywoodWith guest host Gary Estes.   Featuring Hirth Martinez plus  
      Lisa O'Kane, Ben Carr, Bryan Batson, Edward Tree, and Laurel Canyon.  $10 donation.  Good food and beverages available.

      Sunday, Oct. 21, 6:00-9:00pm at Thurnher House - Group Song Evaluations.  Song evaluations are not only a great way to hone your songwriting skills, they also help to prepare your songs (and you) for the type of scrutiny they are likely to encounter in the real world of the music business. The workshops are also a good hang and a great way to meet potential co-writers. Beginning through advanced writers in all genres are welcome. Bring a song on CD, cassette, or to play live plus 10 copies of your typed lyric sheet.  Lyrics only can also be critiqued.   Free for NSAI members, $15 for non-members after two free trial meetings.

      Sunday, Nov. 11, 6:00-9:00pm at Thurnher House - Guest Speaker Kevin Fisher.  Long a fixture in the Los Angeles songwriting scene, Kevin Fisher has been a staff writer for major publishing companies and has had cuts by major artists such as Sara Evans, Kid Rock, and more.   Kevin will share his experience and answer questions on the craft and business of songwriting and offer feedback on songs.  Bring a song on CD or to perform live plus at least one *typed* lyric sheet.   Lyrics only without music are also welcome.

      Sunday, Dec. 9, 6:00-9:00pm at Thurnher House - Group Song Evaluations.

      1a) Directions to Thurnher House

      Thurnher House is located at the entrance to beautiful Lacy Park in San Marino.   The address is 1485 Virginia Road, two blocks north of Huntington Drive.  The best way to get there is to proceed along Huntington Drive as if you were heading toward Hill-Harbison House, the previous meeting place.  When you get to Virginia Rd, instead of heading South toward Hill-Harbison, go North.  After two blocks, Lacy Park will be on your left. Thurnher House is just beyond the entrance to Lacy Park.  You can park on the street or in the Thurnher House parking lot, the next driveway after the park entrance.

      New member David Sanchez is already making a splash.   His song, "Kiss Me There" was recommended for the evaluator luncheon through the NSAI Song Evaluation Service.   The same song was also forwarded to a publisher through Taxi.  In addition, David  signed a single song publishing contract with Atypical Music Publishing and Services, for my song “I Don’t Do Heartache Anymore.”


      Steve Beougher signed his song, "Texas Hold'em", co-written with Seth Jackson, to a non-exclusive publishing contract with Winner's Circle Country Music Publishing.

      Seth Jackson's song, "Santa's On Wheels", was one of 12 songs selected to appear on the "Best of NSAI Holiday Songs" compilation CD to be distributed to publishers and others on Music Row.

        Saturdayand Sunday, Jan. 17-18, 2015 at The Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena - Jason Blume Seminar
        Start the new year with a special 2-day seminar with hit songwriter, instructor, and author Jason Blume on January 17 and 18, 2015.  As a songwriter, Jason has had success in both the pop and country genres.   In addition to his country hits, "Change My Mind" (John Berry) and "I Never Stopped Loving You", he has had cuts with artists such as Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, and many more.   His songs have appeared on albums that have sold 45 million copies.

        Rick Karatas Rick has been both writing new songs and rewriting existing ones.

        was offered the role of Annie in "Annie Get Your Gun".


        Tordy Jack attended his first meeting.  He writes pop/dance music as well as country. Welcome, Tordy!

        Robert Dodds is working with several writing partners and is making his first Nashville-produced demo.

        Pierre Piponnian (stage name Cody Shaw) is negotiating a deal with a major music library.   He is open to co-writing with a lyricist.  If interested, contact him at www.codyshawmusic.com

        Mary Ann Heimann is studying recording technique.

        Adrienne Davis is in the process of co-writing three songs.

        Seth Jackson has just finished demoing a new pop song.   He recently had a mentoring meeting with Hollywood producer C Minor.
