Pack up your car with family, friends and neighbors (or hop on a bus!) and come shop for the
holidays in the vibrant, multicultural, artistic capitol of Eastern MA (Somerville's Union Square!)
all while supporting Libana AND the women of the world! There are lots of great ethnic
restaurants in the Square, as well as a number of wonderful international food markets. There
are also several other crafts markets in the Square this weekend---come make a day of it!

Last December, after touring North India earlier that year, Libana produced a Fair Trade Holiday
Marketplace, arranging to import some beautiful artistic creations made by women artisans we
had connected with there. Being able to sell these gorgeous crafts at a fair and equitable price
allow women to use their traditional artistic patterns, skills, and techniques to better the economic
reality of their families. Artisan collectives are an amazingly powerful model now being implemented
around the world, and are becoming a established tool to support women's economic empowerment--
therefore increasing their status in society. WE LIKE THAT!!! Last year's Marketplace was so
much fun, and a celebration of community in many ways--we had to do it again!. Soooo....

      SEE YOU THIS WEEKEND!
