i m ve been drawn to working with a speciffic jupiterian entity, the
angel Bariel. Researching my Angels of Jupiter paper, i was surprised
to find his seal or rather, multiple variations of his seal in the
Fourth pentacle of jupiter.
"The Fourth Pentacle of Jupiter -- It serveth to acquire riches and
honor, and to possess much wealth. It's Angel is Bariel. It should be
engraved upon silver in the day and hour of Jupiter when he is in the
Editor's Note -- Above the Magical Sigil is the name IH, Iah. Below it
are the Names of the Angels Adoniel and Bariel, the letters of the
latter being arranged about a squre of four compartments. Around is
the Versicle from Psalms 112:3 -- "Wealth and Riches are in his house,
and his righteousness endureth for ever."
i ve uploaded every possible known rendering of the pentacle in
manuscripts, and Joseph s Peterson website was most helpful, and i ll
also see if my manuscript access appeal goes unanswered or not.
I have also added 2 seal variation reconstructions based upon the
common traits that all talismans share and a general overview of
sigillic elements present in the Lemegeton seals. His seal bares a
close resemblance to the Theurgia seals...
From the two pssible variations i chose the one with a crescent.
Asking which one is more correct had received this answer, although i
was expecting the triangular one to be it. Bariel does have a lunar
component and he is related to the Moon because his talisman is
engraved upom silver when the Moon is in cancer. He is also a
Jupiterian angel, so done in the day and hour of Jupiter.
I decided to construct his physical seal, in order to conduct a few
scrying sessions, and later, an evocation.
His seal is to be made of tin and silver. But i m not going to fuse
them. The talismanic support will be a tin plate engraved with his
seal, his name in hebrew, and the divine name Yah.
this i can construct whenever i feel like it. The real talisman, so
to say, wioll be the silver foil i will apply to the talisman,
precisely under the planetary prescriptions. Fumigations,
consecrations, yaddi yadda...
now for anyone interested i will present the whole process of
engraving the seal, accompanied with the pictures i ve uploaded in the
1. took tin and melted it in a small pot with a handle. Picked up the
melt junk until the metal was left clean and shiny, then poured it
into another pot. I jiggled the moulten mass of tin around until it
got fairly round, and let it cool down.
2. after cooling, i got a thin tin plate of about 3-4 inches across.
(picture 1, the tin plate)
I took a circular form, marked it, and broke away some of the tin
round the edges until it became round. I hammered it a bit and then
decided to level it further. i did this by shaving it with a cutter
blade, meticulously shaving away until the surface was flat
enough. Then i took the smooth and round part of a hammer and started
rubbing the surface, for further shine.
(picture 2, polished tin plate)
3. i traced the seal using a ruler and a small circular metallic disc,
to get perfect lines and curves, and i engraved the seal with a short,
strong cutter blade, redoing the whole thing 2 or 3 times until the
seal was visible enough.
(picture 3, engraved tin seal)
4.i decided to buff the surface a bit. I burnt some mint and manus
christus leaves powder into a pan, then reduced the whole thing to
ashes and added a few drops of water. with this mixture i rubbed the
seal and gave it a little buff, and it also made the seal more visible
as you can see in picture 4.
5. in order to make the surface adhere more to the glue i will use to
place the silver foil, i buffed the surface even more with some
abrasive cleaning powder., picture 5.
i will get back with further pictures of the finished silver seal and
