      From the identification C/1996 X3 = C/2002 N2 the next perihelion
      was 2008 February 13 at about 00:25 UTC. C/1996 X3 and C/2002 N2
were observed only with LASCO C2 with magnitudes of 7 - 8 and
      not in LASCO C3.

The perihelion of the Kracht group comets is outside the C2 field
on 2008 February 13, but a Kracht group comet will enter the C2
field only about three hours after perhelion (03:30 UTC).

Unfortunately, there are no LASCO C2 images between 00:30 and
      10:06 UTC. So it seems that the return of C/1996 X3 = C/2002 N2
has been missed due to a LASCO data gap.

That small (C2 only) fragments can be observed on their next
return has been shown by the recent return of the Marsden group
      comets C/2002 R1 and R4.

      Regards,
      Rainer
