        Regulation is not that important. There is a built in 7805 5V regulator for all circuits except finals. 2-3V change under line and load change conditions is ok.

        However, low noise is critical. Most switching power supplies are not good for this use, although some work well.

        An old linear wall wart in 500mA-1A range (even with no regulator) is the best. Usually the voltage rating is for the max load, so you need to measure the actual output at idle and under 300mA load and make sure the no load voltage is below 14-15V and under load is around 10-12V. A wall wart rated at 9V/1A would be a good choice (rated at 12V can go up to 18V when idle).
