Hi Mike, I thought I'd give it a try.
It builds and I run "mono SDRSharp.exe".
The initial error attached, then it starts but when I select Softrock/Si570 or RTL-SDR/TCP I get connection refused.

I killed skype in case it was a sound busy problem but that didn't fix it.

The only output to stdout is the usual:-
    lancelot@slipstream:~/ftp/MAY13/SDRSharp> mono SDRSharp.exe

I'll just add that there is a working port for Mono (open source implementation of .NET), running native under Linux.
The software itself is open source, too. There are forks out there with added features like scanning, flexible scheduled recording, etc.

I had a heck of a time getting this program going on my computer. I
mainly wanted to use this program with an RTL USB dongle I bought. I
followed all the instructions and when it came to trying to run the
program, I kept getting a .NET error message that said it couldn't
find the runtime needed to start the program.

I had dotnet 4.0 installed on my computer. At the suggestion of
another ham, I also installed dotnet 3.5 alongside 4.0 on my computer.
Then SDR# worked! It's very impressive with the little $15 dongle. It
also works great with the Softrock Ensemble SDR's. I like the features
      of SDR#.

So, on my computer, SDR# didn't like dotnet 4.0 but did like 3.5. I
don't know if this is true of all computers or just a fluke with mine.
But I thought I'd mention it in case anyone else is trying to install
it and runs into the same problem.

        Zack,

.net 3.5 if different from .net 4.0, the new versions doesn't include the previous ones.  So if a program was made for .net 3.5 you need to have this version installed in your computer. Fortunately enough, several versions of .net can coexist and usually, as in this case, they must coexist.  Nothing wrong in your computer.
