As Mike says I base my comment on another SDR kit similar to the Softrock. I
do not remember which one but both options are offered with the warning that
the ready made coil version offers reduced performance. If I remember
correctly this design has one section more than a Softrock.

I'm not sure about the Ensemble, I think in the Files section is a test of
the earlier, similar BPFs. There is this
with an extra section, note the important x3 frequency. There is another
good one but I can't find it... I found this which gives a better
Google searches often end up at Robby's site or this group.

I do not know of anyone doing this. The BPFs are an important feature of the
Softrock. In my opinion you should be thinking of improving them rather than
risking degrading performance. Noticing difference? It really depends how
hard you look, if there is no signal at a critical frequency you will not
see it, but at another time there may be.
