      Mike,

I've been googling and found some very interesting correspondence-

Apparently the IQ issue has been worked on behind the scene for some time and Dave may be right that it's not a component of Hamlib. It may however be an element of Fldigi.

How does it accomplish the phase and balance for image suppression during transmit?

      Dave,

I got it working. Apparently fldigi's modem can take the direct I/Q and demodulate it. Perhaps all that PSDR is doing on VAC is a straight pass-thru. I am not happy with the resolution on the waterfall (had to run the gain all the way up to see signals) but that may be more config work on my part to get it working. I was able to complete a few QSOs today on PSK31 and PSK125 so much progress.

Sory to say, but HamLib does NOT handle the SDR I/Q IF to Audio
conversion, it only handles the control of the Si570.

There was talk of someone else creating an I/Q front end for FlDigi, but
I don't know if it ever saw the light of day, yet.

Talk to Dave the author of FlDigi, his contacts are in the help, and on
      the website.

Else, use any of the existing SDR processing app's to handle the I/Q
processing back to baseband, and whatever means to get it into FlDigi.

Note, some soundcards can use the Mono (or Stereo) "Mix" function to take
a sample of the recovered audio, and make it available for another app to
use, if you set the OS's "Default Recording" portal, to be the "Mix"
function of the baseband Audio I/O card, but that only generaly works OK,
if you use separate soundcards for the I/Q and Baseband streams.
