Re: [softrock40] Re: RxTx LED
- Very essential to know when the rig is in TX for many reasons. Believing you are in RX because you didn't press a button is what it is, belief not fact.
A few weeks ago I came home to find the SR63ng/Mobo/Widget with an overtemp shutdown message displayed and immediately saw the TX LED lit, so there was no guessing what had happened.
I fit them on any piece of gear capable of TXing together with a power LED.

With the values shown the red LED is brighter which I was looking for. I had a external PA failure. About 80 dollars worth of failure I could have caught with a LED. Controller got RF in to it and stuck in transmit. I did not catch it till to late!Larry W9AMRIn a message dated 12/26/2011 1:17:31 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, eplerkeppler@... writes:
Oh, nice little mod there Larry.
Funny you came out with your mod right after I was glancing through an All Electronics catalog and looking over the same kind of LED.
They have a Red/Green Bi-Color LED (T 1 3/4 5mm) for 50 cents each, catalog#: LED-6.
