My first disclaimer is that I haven't invested a lot of hours into optimizing PSDR. I'm using a USB connected PSDR supported SoundBlaster Extigy on an overclocked 3.2GHz Intel Core Duo pc for IQ audio in and out. Headphones for receive have been tried on both the PC mobo sound and a cheap USB sound card adapter.

Have a look at the links section
Titles there that interest you are
"PowerSDR 1.x Initial Settings for Operating CW"
"PowerSDR Buffers and Sample Rate Relationship"
"CW Skimmer Configuration using VAC Direct I/Q "
Also use the CWX feature, either in macro or direct keyboard typing, it works ok with any Tx speed, read in
Yet having a cheap soundcard wont get you far, you can test though and see up to where you can live with it. Suggested a supported card eg D-44 or FA-66.
