I had a similar problem with a V9. One of the toroidal coil had cold solder joint. Once I pulled it, clean the wire and resoldered, all was well. Ken VA3ABN

Subject: [softrock40] strong broadcast stations appearing out of band

I have an Ensemble RX II. The last few nights I've been finding shortwave broadcast station WHRI appearing where it shouldn't be. Last night its transmission on 5960 kHz was also appearing on 2000 kHz. Tonight its transmission on 5920 kHz is also appearing on 1920 kHz. (Yes, a different distance apart than the previous night.) The image, if it is an image, is almost as strong as the main frequency -- S9 vs. S9+20. Any thoughts on what might be causing this? I haven't noticed it happening with any other stations and/or frequency ranges, but WHRI is for some reason the strongest broadcast signal I'm receiving lately, other than local AM broadcast stations which so far don't seem to be appearing at higher frequencies.
