You don't want the SoftRock to be exactly on your IF
frequency because around the LO frequency and sometimes as much as a KHz
away the SoftRock does not work well, typically you want the LO to be
10KHz to 15 KHz away.
Also the LO is about 5 KHz lower in frequency than the Crystal
frequency divided by 4 because of the large amount of capacitance in
parallel with the crystal, this must be taken into account when
calculating the crystal frequency.
