Thanks, I can then try it under wine. I installed it in Crossover office from the .msi file. Just checked and it failed to start but with no error output.

Crossover Office is usually ahead of wine. They get paid to support certain applications and they leave it a reasonable while before contributing the changes to wine so as to allow their customers to benefit from what they paid for.

Basically I'm not a Windows person though I have programs like Hamcalc, Elsie, freepcb, schemedit, un_dipfree_en.exe_15033, Rocky and Winrad installed, except the last 2 have a problem with sound.

Solved the problem by switching to MAC + DL2SDR's DSP Radio. Plug-in, and works, no error messages or anything, works instantly. I can change the frequency of the oscillator remotely from DSP Radio. Just have to put the rest of the parts on the board now and test receive. I will post my experiences with this MAC based software once the PCB is complete.

Anyone needing a Notebook with Ubuntu? I'm selling mine. From now on, MAC only.

Most of us have only used Windows (or Linux) software. If you d do a brief review of DSP Radio for this group it would be well received. John KC9OJV

I briefly discussed it on my blog entry about weather satellites: http://alternet.us.com/?p=1398

I _LOVE_ DSP Radio.  I tried every SDR app I could get my hands on, for linux windows and mac, and I think DSP Radio is the best.  I just wish it was more scriptable.  In fact, I get better copy of APT transmissions using DSP Radio than I do with GNU Radio.

The only real gotcha that I've found is that I can't get sound routing (ala Jack or Soundflower) in and out of DSP Radio w/o major stuttering.

Just as an f.y.i, I don't know if google has updated yet, but the DSP Radio page had to move because .mac websites went away.  It's here now:

          Just my $.02

OK, "7z e  Install_CFGSR_V2.3.msi" extracts it but there are no dll's or executable files there.
Under Crossover Office "cxrun Install_CFGSR_V2.3.msi" offered to repair and said it had but the real problem was libusb0.dll missing.

I think that is how I installed it originally.

            I copied libusb0_x86.dll and libusb0.sys to ~/.cxoffice/winxp/drive_c/windows/system/ and system32 as libusb0.dll and libusb0.sys
This time cfgsr comes up but can't open the si570 - "USB device not found".

            testlibusb-win.exe  returns no devices:
            DLL version:    1.2.5.0
            Driver version:    -1.-1.-1.-1

            bus/device  idVendor/idProduct

            --------------------------------------------
I'll try to get back to it later.
