I did that also and it appears that the power supply suffered not the SDR board. Good luck, Alan - W6ARH From: softrock40@yahoogroups.com

Subject: [softrock40] BPF Kit for 9.0 RX Saw and smelled smoke

Hi, I just completed the busses and rails portion of the build for the BPF kit for the 9.0 RX project.

I had connected the BPF to the 9.0 board and was performing the voltage test.

When I checked the P101 pin 2 voltage I saw smoke.... I am not sure but I might have touched the Pin 1 ground and the pin 2 5 Volts at the same time with my probe.

My question, I completed the test and everything tested ok. But.... should I now go back and retest the 9.0 RX board? I visually can't see where the problem is, nothing is visibly fried.

If so, any idea where to look? I had completed every test on every step so I am sure that whatever happened was related to the last test of P101 pin 2.

      Thanks for your comments.

      Greg
