I have managed to hack Andrew's old (3.3.0) files into a form that lets me at least run Quisk 3.3.1. I can't vouch for everything working right, but I can receive on my 6.3. One thing that doesn't seem to work yet (sadly) is the phase / amplitude adjustments in the "Config" screen (nothing seems to change when I adjust them). I suspect that I am missing something.

Since my changes were mostly iterative hacks to the scripts until they seemed to work, I want to go back over them more carefully before I make them available. Assuming Andrew doesn't beat me to it, I will send out the result of that once I have it.

Let me revise that. I went back and played with this last night, and
the phase / amplitude adjustments DO appear to work (I was able to improve image rejection from about -25Db to about -55Db -- if the spectrum scope is to be believed -- playing around last night). So, I will go over my changes to Andrew's scripts in the next few days and send him a patch. I would be happy to post the patch as well, but people will probably want to look in Andrew's files for the real thing in the long run (I don't want to add to confusion).

I tried Andrew's patch against quisk-3.3.1 back on 24th. Dec. but I had
a problem which I still have, never got to go back and have a look. 80m
and 40m actually display 10m. I only noticed it when I thought I was on
10m and I heard a station calling CQ 40, switched to 40m and I still
              heard him calling CQ 40.
I guess I messed up somewhere while applying the patch by hand.

did a half-vast job of bringing his changes over. I am going to
try again. That said, if all you want is the basic Quisk 3.3.1
feature set, with the ability to talk to the RXTX 6.3 (that is what I have) it is not hard to get there by editing out some stuff in quisk_hardware_vk6jbl.py and quisk_widgets_vk6jbl.py.

I will see whether the remaining code can be made to apply
reasonably cleanly (I want this to work, so I have become
                somewhat motivated).

                    Sid,

I think your 4x display and your 10M / 40M behavior are the same
thing. I noticed this on 3.3.0 as well, and found that I needed
to change the options to usbsoftrock when it is launched by
Quisk to specify "-m 4" (multiplier is 4). This brought the display
and the actual tuned frequency into sync for me. Since 10M is 4x
40M, it would make sense that this would fix that problem as well.

                    Eric

as shown below - weird, 3.3.0 should have behaved the same.

                      self.usbsoftrock_pid = os.spawnlp(os.P_NOWAIT, "usbsoftrock",
                      "usbsoftrock", "-a", "-d", "-m 1")

Changed to "-m 4" in 3.3.1 and that fixed it.
                      Thanks,

I've been working with the author of Quisk to merge my changes into the base code. There's a new version (3.3.6) available with a lot of it in there. I still have to package up my hardware and widgets file for this version. Will post something here when that's done.

I pulled down 3.3.6 yesterday but haven't had time to look at it,
                          perhaps later this evening.
