Quisk louder audio workaround
> I have not been able to increase the monitored audio volume. From some googling around I think it may be a linux driver problem with the HDA in-built sound. I tried to overcome this with an alsa plugin that can do amplification but I could not get it to work. I've also downloaded the latest linux HDA drivers from Realtek (my laptop uses the ALC268 sound chip from Realtek) but I have not installed it yet.
The monitored audio volume using Quisk v3.1 in my laptop setup (Ubuntu 9.04) has been very soft even with max volume control settings.
I have a workaround working now: I modified the Quisk source file sound_alsa.c to amplify all the sound output samples by 40x. So now the audio is "loud & clear" :-)
The modified sound_alsa.c is in FILES > 9V1AL.
