Thanks. You pinpointed it. I removed C16 and unsoldered the
appropriate side of C12 and R11 and lifted pin 1. Pin 1 was fine but
the pad was still grounded. Closer inspection showed the ground plane
to curve in and touch the pad. So I removed U5, used a pen knife to
cut through the copper until the pad for pin 1 was isolated from
ground, reinstalled U5 and C16 and resoldered C12 and R11. Sure
enough, the image was very significantly reduced, Rocky was doing his
I/Q balancing thing and the balloon ground station is well underway.
The board was from your first run of SoftRock Lites.
