SOAP without WebServices?
- Sorry if this is a newbie's question, but is SOAP ever used without
WebServices? Looking at Microsoft's documentation, it is assumed that
SOAP is used in the context of WebServices. Let's say I need to
integrate applications in a LAN and there's really no need for
any "service discovery" or downloadable specifications. It seems like
a lot of overhead to send requests over HTTP and through a web
server. Is SOAP sent over other transports in practice and are there
SDKs that support this?
