      so i get the impression that you got hurt jon, but i could not really understand your email. i hope your ok. always look over your shoulder at incoming weather. if there was a chain link fence that close to you then it sound  like it wasnt a good place to kite. geographical features that are up wind of you will cause turbulence for 8 times their height in distance. so if there are 100ft tree's up wind, then you need to be at least 800ft down wind of them before the wind will start to smooth out and fill in. heal fast, and remember to kite safe in the future.
