I ll be there if the wind cooperates. Look for East winds in Mountain Home, Caldwell, Boise, low teens for Lucky Peak RAW sensor, and no morning clouds. Cross

Chris Nichols did a nice annotation with Google Maps' new "My Maps"
feature -- this is slick, allows you to do all the whizzy stuff that had
taken a course in javascript previously, now with an edit-in-browser
      interface.

The URLs are messy, so here's a compressed form:
      http://tinyurl.com/2adkfw
showing the various ways to get where you're going.

His "Dirt road" is the Strike Dam cutoff we've been talking about. Saves
odometer work, but maybe not wear & tear on your vehicle. It's graded
gravel, typical backroad potluck for S. Idaho.

Looks like the simple/obvious way to go is on the highway, his "Route 1"
through Grandview and using state hwy 78 (aka "Mud Flat Rd") on the south
      side of the river.

PS for the technically curious -- that tinyurl expands to
      http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&t=h&om=1&msa=0&msid=10131284239
      0852499175.000001126c0634a3d59f0&ll=42.987321,-116.00738
      5&spn=0.202169,0.236893&z=12
They've cut down on the useless lat/lon precision, but the unique
      identifier, 101312842390852499175.000001126c0634a3d59f0, is essential to
      retrieve the specific annotation.
