I'm just letting everyone know I'm putting together a batch of about 20 hardware kits, including everything required except the tubes. (although i can provide some tubes too , which might save on additional shippoing if yoiu get everything together)
I knew i had about 30 pics on the shelf, ready to program, but realised these are all 18F25k22, and due to the extra memory requirement of the 4Play feature I need the larger memory of the 18f26k22. i'll find something to do with the 25k22's eventually !
So I have had to order some pic's and a some timing crystals and I think i should have some kits ready to send out by Saturday.
Please note, if yoiu are new to smartsockets, that on their own they don't do anything. they need to be driven by a data source which can send the command instructions over a serial port. I've used a PDA, a PC and another microcontroller in the past. Everything you need to know is in the manual in the files section, but feel free to ask if you have any questions.
If I get the time I will write the code to produce a useful clock with 4play display from another pic (maybe with my newly 'surplus' 18f25k22's !)
The kits will be complete, including the 30V supply to power the tubes. If you aren't going to be bothered with the 4Play function and wish to daisychain together several smartsockets to make a larger array of 8 or 12 tubes etc, a single 30V supply can power 2 kits comfortably, so I will be ready to ship kits with fewer power supplies than 1 per kit. (I hope this makes sense !)
The kits, including pics, PCB's, HV driver, hardware etc, will cost about £24 each, with reductions if you only wish to have the pcb's or you wish to program your own pics from the code in the files section.
I'll keep going with the kits until I run out of PCB's and I guess after that maybe someone else will have redesigned the boards by then, into something more spectular, and they'll be able to offer them instead ;) (I am sure there is more size reduction which can be done easily of the pic is changed to a SSOP or even smaller package)
I'll post a message here when i have the first kits ready to go, and once the initial demand is met I'll try to keep a kit available via eBay until they are all gone.
