      I've used regular cola quite a bit and have seen recipes using root beer
      and lemon-lime. Just be sure that it's "regular" soda, not diet, as it's
      the sugar which tenderizes the meat. And the chemicals in diet drinks
      result in a bitter taste when cooked!
