      Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya!
      Om Namo Bhagavate Sivanandaya!
      Om Namo Bhagavate Chidanandaya!
      Om Namo Bhagavate Krishnanandaya!

      Namaste!

Tomorrow (September 4) is the holy Krishna Jayanthi
(appearance day of Lord Krishna). In honour of this
occasion several articles and videos of talks by Sri
Swami Chidanandaji during previous celebrations have
      been uploaded at:
      http://sivanandaonline.org/html/misc/janmastami/introduction.shtm

In addition, we also uploaded an article by Gurudev
Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj titled "Gopis' Love for
      Krishna" at:
      http://www.dlshq.org/discourse/sep2007.htm

Yours in the service of Gurudev,

      Pannirselvam

CURE FOR ASTHMA: A sickly-looking man approached the
Master and complained that he was suffering from
asthma for a long time, and prayed to the Master to
cure him by his Grace. The Master advised him to
repeat the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra and taught him how
      to do Pranayama.

He then blessed the man and warned him, "You must
have put some rats in a hole and suffocated them in
your last birth. Perhaps that is why you are
suffering from asthma now. Be careful in this birth
      at least."

      -----------------------------------------------------

"Krishna's incarnation was to goad man to be perfect,
to be wise and powerful like himself, to be the
towering example of a person with unbroken self-
consciousness. Even the mere remembrance of such a
blessed being like Krishna is, therefore, an
immediate redeemer from all troubles, the bestower of
bliss and peace, for it excites a vibration of
integration and harmony in the mind. Krishna's
glorious deeds are to create in all an irresistible
urge to become pure and strong, wise and powerful,
blessed and immortal!" - Swami Sivananda
