"Satsanga and Svadhyaya" is the title of the latest book we have
uploaded to our website. This book by Gurudev Sri Swami Sivanandaji
Maharaj is on the glory, the importance and the life-transforming power
of holy company and spiritual books. This book can be downloaded from:

Yours in the service of Gurudev,

INNER SERPENTS!: The Master was returning from the temple. As he was
passing the Yajnashala (a place where Vedic sacrifice is conducted),
      Sivadayalji saluted him.

"Is everything all right?" the Master enquired in his characteristic

"Yes, Swamiji, but there was a serpent in the room. So everything was
      upset last night," said Sivadayalji.

"You are afraid of this little creature? Look within. Introspect. There
are countless cobras like infatuation, lust, anger, etc. within you.
They are biting you everyday. Still you take pleasure in feeding them.
The mind is the biggest and most venomous cobra. Thought-waves are its
      hoods. Eradicate them."

"Neither through matted locks, nor through fiery lectures and erudition,
nor through the exhibition of miracles does one attain perfection or
knowledge. He in whom the two currents of Raga-dvesha (likes and
dislikes), egoism, lust and anger are destroyed in toto is ever happy
and is a liberated sage or Jivanmukta. " - Swami Sivananda
