      Hello everybody,

I've just discovered this rather worrying piece of information via
both The Guardian and the Coming Soon! websites and thought that I'd
      share it with you:

Odd Lot Remaking Lavender Hill Mob
      Source: Variety
      October 22, 2004

Odd Lot Entertainment has acquired remake rights to The Lavender Hill
Mob, with Dean Parisot (Fun with Dick and Jane) attached to direct,
      reports Variety.

Produced by the Ealing Studios in 1951 and directed by Charles
Crichton (A Fish Called Wanda), "Mob" features Alec Guinness as a
mild-mannered bank clerk who comes up with a plan to steal a fortune
in gold bullion from his employer.

David Sussman will adapt the screenplay. His credits include Locked &
Upright at Lions Gate and the adaptation of Being Alexander at New
      Line Cinema.
