        Hi All.

        I am writing a custom component that overlays points on a map.  I am trying to use the flash.display.Bitmap class to do this, but am not able to see it in my flex 3 app when I run.  I am fairly new to Flex and AS3, so I could be doing something stupid

        Here’s my AS3 –

        package st.graphics

        {

              import flash.display.Sprite;

              import flash.display.Bitmap;

              import flash.display.BitmapData;

              public class Overlay extends Sprite

              {

                    private var bmData:BitmapData;

                    private var bm:Bitmap;

                    public function Overlay()

                    {

                          super();

                          bmData=new BitmapData(300,200,true);

                          bm=new Bitmap(bmData);

                          this.addChild(bm);

                          for(var x:int=0;x<100;x++)

                                for(var y:int=0;y<100;y++)

                                      bmData.setPixel(x,y,0xffffff);

                    }

              }

        }

        Thanks in advance,

        Mike.

        Hey Mike... a) your instance of the class Overlay must be added last to the display list in order for it to be at the top (think highest z index). b) are you

          b) are you sure you want to use bitmaps for this?  Might want to try using shapes instead.
