This pattern should resemble the form of the volosnik (netted "povoinik")
I show on my headdress page.
Another pattern I've seen (courtesy of Seraphima Yaroslavna's garb class)
is a circle edged by a band to go around the top of the head, and a
half-circle attached in back to cover the lower back of the head with
strings around the edge to gather it around the hair. See
pattern is closest to the illustrations you see on my Headdress page, if
you ignore the extra forehead and nape decorations.
