Shipbuilding involves the construction of a wide variety of marine vehicles such as oil tankers, passenger liners, cargo ships, fishing boats, offshore supply vessels, barges, tugboats, Navy ships (aircraft carriers, cruisers, destroyers etc.), research vessels, Coast Guard cutters, catamarans, SWATH vessels, aluminum boats, wooden boats, planing crafts, inflatable crafts, hydrofoil crafts, hovercrafts, yachts, and other pleasure crafts. We invite boat owners, designers, engineers, shipyard workers, vendors, boat operators, educators, students and anyone interested in shipbuilding to subscribe. In this discussion group you can pose or respond to a question, make a suggestion, or post technical and research information relevant to ship production. We welcome you to talk about quality and accuracy control, welding, fitting, outfitting, shipwright, testing, scheduling, training, supervision, management, workers, production planning and control, production plans, etc. This is a great discussion group because you can express yourself freely about any aspect of shipbuilding. Unlike formal groups and organizations as well as established publications with stringent charters, restrictions and membership requirements, our discussion group is open freely to everybody. Just subscribe and engage in a lively discussion about shipbuilding.
