Re: Shinshu teachings in the West
- Have the teachings of Jodo Shinshu largely remained
among Westerners of Japanese descent? What is the
future of Jodo Shinshu?

This issue has sparked a lot of interesting discussion
among members of the Higashi Honganji temples. Here is
something you all may find relevant to that.
Dr. Nobuo Haneda, director of the Maida Center in Berkeley,
gave a talk on the future of Jodo Shinshu at the celebration
of the 100th anniversary of the Higashi Honganji Hawaii
District. A transcript of his talk is available at the
West Covina Buddhist Temple's Living Dharma web site.
