I'm going the route of crowdsourcing because I'm producing this independently and need the necessary funds to make a visually stunning short proof-of-concept film to present to investors for a longer, feature-length movie.

 

Kickstarter works with backers pledging a certain amount and choosing a reward. If I don't meet my goal, then I don't receive any funds to make the film and no rewards are given out. If my campaign is successful, all funds raised will be used for costs of production and securing a few name actors for roles.

 

CYBER HUNT is a near-future adventure in the vein of BLADE RUNNER that chronicles a Native American combat veteran who's part of an operation to stop the spread of a computer virus that infects people. 

 

I've been developing this project with director David Winning (whose credits include GENE RODDENBERRY'S EARTH: FINAL CONFLICT & ANDROMEDA, STARGATE ATLANTIS, BLOOD TIES, DINOTOPIA, and LOST GIRL). The action-packed script is a collaborative effort between myself, Jason Reichow, Jordan Tate, the late Dan Bivens, and professionally-published Science Fiction author P.E. Cunningham. BABYLON 5 actor Jason Carter has also been involved as a co-producer, as has Native American actress Tanis Parenteau (HOUSE OF CARDS).

 

With CYBER HUNT, I'm hoping to show Native actors in a variety of leading roles. In additon, I've spoken with Chase Masterson (STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE) about playing a military officer/agent in the film (keep in mind Chase is not officially signed yet but definitely interested and waiting to see how fundraising goes).
