bicycle riding classes available
- View SourceWheel Kids Bicycle Club is now offering riding classes for kids who didn't have a chance to join us over the summer or for kids who want to continue to improve their skills. Classes start on October 15 and run for eight weeks on Saturday mornings.
There are two skill level options:
Beginning Cyclist - this is for kids who want to become independent riders (i.e., getting off training wheels, Skuuts, etc.) or who aren't yet comfortable on their bike. The class will work on fundamental riding skills such as balance, starting, stopping, turning, etc. There are two age-based classes available at this level: one for 5 to 7 year olds, the other for 8 to 12 year olds.
Intermediate Cyclist - this is for kids who are comfortable on their bikes and want to improve on their basic riding skills. Class activities will focus on improving confidence at various speeds and conditions, cornering, obstacles, hand-signals and riding etiquette. This class is open to riders from 5 to 12 years old.
Classes are conducted in groups between 5 and 10 riders and one to two coaches. Individual and semi-private lessons also are available.
