Potanichthys was a flying fish of the Triassic. The systematic paleontology of it is:

      Actinopterygii Cope 1887
      Perleidiformes Berg 1937
      Thoracopteridae Griffiths 1977
Potanichthys Guang-Hui Xu et al. 2012
Potanichthys xingyiensis Guang-Hui Xu et al. 2012

An excellent specimen was found in China. Guang-Hui Xu, Li-Jun Zhao, Ke-Qin Gao, and Fei-Xiang Wu wrote an article  titled A new stem-neopterygian fish from the Middle Triassic of China shows the earliest over-water gliding strategy of the vertebrates. It was published in 2012 in Proc. R. Soc. B. The complete text is on this link. Fossil photos and an illustration are included.
