Atherina atropatiensis was a fish of the Upper Miocene. The systematic paleontology of it is:

      Actinopterygii Cope 1887
Teleostei sensu Patterson and Rosen 1977
      Atherinidae Risso 1826
      Atherina Linnaeus 1758
Atherina atropatiensis Carnevale, Haghfarshi et al. 2011

Fossil remains of this fish were found in Iran. Giorgio Carnevale, Enayat Haghfarshi, Syraus Abbasi, Habib Alimohammadian, and Bettin Reichenbacher wrote an article titled A new species of silverside from the Late Miocene of Iran. It was published in 2011 in Acta Palaeontologica Polonica 56(4), 749-756. The complete text is on this link. Fossil photos are included.
