Group Description

The UK and rest of Europe has severe weather all the year round. Tornadoes and other violent weather phenomenon often goes unreported and therefore does not paint the real picture about our climate. North America on the otherhand has a nationwide network of information sources to report severe weather as it happens. Probably the best tornado statistics in the world come from the USA. Because of this hundreds of lives are saved every year and research can continue to provide better explanation, for instance, why tornadoes form. Why does Europe not report similar weather events which are just as important. The British Tornado and Storm Research Organisation (TORRO)is at the forefront of severe weather research in Europe.
Storm chasing is becoming an important means of reporting severe weather while enjoying one of the greatest adrenalin rushes there is. This group aims to discuss it all and more......
