- Greetings to the List,
The War of the Diamonds is over - and what a war it was. My personal opinion
of the event was that it went GREAT!
The overall goal for Rapier was to make it interesting and accessable to new
or interested fighters But, also to make it entertaining and challenging to
those that have been to a War or two.
About 18 fighters participated - this figure includes the new people, some
heavies that fought rapier only on Friday, and few that only fought one or
The action was non-stop and back-to-back.
I want to extend my thanks to Damiano Elie Bellini for volunteering to be the
Marshal in Charge on Friday - great job!
Thanks to Alysia Gabrielle de Fouugeres for volunteering to be the Marshal in
Charge on Saturday and for helping with pre-arrangements/scheduling.
And to all the fighters that made the trip and were a lot of fun to fight
Thanks to Don Ericus and Cadet Vincois Picard for making the trip from
Ansteorra - and being creative with the scenarios/melees. Thanks to Sheamus
Selvyn for bringing/making props for the resurrections battles. And to Tormod
for doing a great job with the Queen's Rapier Tourney and Court.
More information on the specifics of the event and PICTURES can be found at

Pictures are located in the Album's section under Diamond Wars 2001. The
pictures also do not do justice to the number of fighters and intensity of
the event. We were only able to get one picture on Friday.
My regrets to running out of digital space to take more pictures of all of
those fighters that attended. Please forward any pictures you have to my
email address and I will add those to the photo album.
Thanks! and Thanks again to all those associated with Diamonds.

- And by the way, Diamond Wars is one of the More fun events that this kingdom
has. I highly reccomend it to everyone. Good site, good fighting (both
styles). I wish is wasn't over a ten hour drive for me. Although, I plan
to go every year, I just have to wait and see what else is happening around
the same time... I can only afford so much.
