      >It is my pleasure to introduce to you the first ever rapier fighting podcast. I listen to lots of podcasts on my iPod while at the gym or in the car on the way to events. I always wanted to have a rapier podcast but I could never find one. So I decided to make my own.

      >The format is very simple, Armand and I picked some general topics to discuss and then sat down with a mic and a computer and shot from the hip. About halfway through Connor joins us to stir things up. That's it, fencing guys talking about fencing and fencers. It's simple enough, but the result is fun and we had a blast doing it.

      >We have decided to call the show The Rapier Wit, the main page for the podcast is here http://odeo.com/channel/144369/view - each and every show we do will be listed there, so bookmark it. The link to our first show is here: The Beginning. Also if you want to bring the podcast directly in to iTunes you can use this RSS URL http://odeo.com/channel/144369/rss.xml. In iTunes under the Advanced menu select Subscribe to Podcast and paste that url in the window that opens up. And finally if you want to grab the MP3 directly do a "right-click>save as" on this link: The Beginning

      >Things we discussed this week are: music you use to get pumped for fighting, how to get warmed up on fighting day, the fighting mindset, what makes a good fighter, and pet peeves of the week. We will be doing one show a week, at least Armand and I will be, our goal is to have a different guest every week so if you want to be on the show just let me know. I know the audio isn't of the best quality all the way through (I will be getting a new mic in the very near future), but you can still hear everything well enough and it doesn't distract too much from the listening experience. Production values will go up as we get more experienced at this.

      >And we do WANT YOUR FEEDBACK. We never claim to be experts on anything and we want to know if you agree with what we are saying, if you have anything to add, if you disagree (heaven forbid) with what we say. We also want your ideas on things to discuss, we want to know what events you will be attending so we can promote those, and we want to know what's going on in your world as far as fighting goes. We get our enjoyment from doing what we do best: talking about fencing. But we do want to entertain you and make this podcast something you will want to listen too. So email me with your ideas. You can also leave comments on the podcast webpage. The comments section is probably best used for discussing the issues mentioned in the individual podcasts, but doesn't have to. You can also leave a voice comment which I thought was really cool.
