This might have been the thoughts -- in a different vein -- of some of the many spectators in Bellevue Park today, as the Seattle Petanque Club braved the cold while enjoying the sun of New Year's Day, to play nearly 5 hours of p├ętanque.  Starting at Noon, players peaked a 11, with six hardy players keeping it going until darkness -- more than cold -- ended play at 4:50.  Some of the six were thankful that the last game ended then, as points got harder to make in the gathering dusk.  A variety of contributed snacks, plus a liberal supply of the Club's hand-warmers helped!  A good start to the year!

Over half of the 2012 members have paid their $30 already for their 2013 renewals, the earliest we have ever had so many renewals.  For the remaining dozen or so, you have a little under 4 weeks to renew, without facing FPUSA's $5 Late Penalty, so let's hear from you.
