Scrum is being adopted within many organizations around the world, and some of those organizations are trying to scale Scrum to meet the needs of complex situations.
This presentation begins with a summary of industry data, examining Agile adoption rates and the application of Agile software development at scale. It then presents an overview of the Agile Scaling Model (ASM) and its 1+8 scaling factors: full Agile delivery, large teams, distributed teams, regulatory compliance, organizational distribution, technical complexity, organizational complexity, and enterprise discipline.
The ASM is applied to tailor Scrum practices so that they can address common scaling scenarios. This provides insight into why Agility@Scale can be significantly different from mainstream Agile methods. Finally, additional practices for addressing scaling issues are summarized.
