RE: [scrumdevelopment] RE: [APM] Re: Proposed Amendment to the Agile Manifesto (no, thanks)
Yes, good point, "executable tests" are sort-of included in the
"Working software over..." statement but in a very convoluted
and non-obvious way, imo.
"Executable tests" or even justs tests, are now such an integral part
of doing Agile Software Development that is a pitty some
explicit statement is not made about them, and how they relate to
That's the point I am trying to get accross,
"I am always doing things I can't do, that's how I get to do them."

Agile Manifesto (no, thanks)
If these tests are executable and "requirements definitions and
traceability" would be considered a form of documentation, then "Working
software over comprehensive documentation" already has this covered.
In a message dated 3/12/2004 7:43:20 AM Mountain Standard Time,
I hereby propose an addendum to the Agile Manifesto:
We are uncovering better ways of developing
software by doing it and helping others do it.
Through this work we have come to value:
Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
Working software over comprehensive documentation
Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
Responding to change over following a plan
Tests over requirements definitions and traceability
That is, while there is value in the items on
the right, we value the items on the left more.
What do you think?
