17485Re: Distributed Daily Standup - how do make them work?
- Nov 19, 2006Hi Mark,In addition to Michael's suggestion to "ask the team", it is also a good practice to collocate the team that has the most members, and have the others dial in for the meeting. I couldn't discern where your main group was located.Webcams are certainly very helpful, and so are electronic tools to help you update. Task boards are great for collaboration; tools can get boring. I'd ask the team to come up with creative ways to keep the meetings interesting and fun. Here is a link on the ScrumAlliance website that talks about distributed teams. http://www.scrumalliance.org/index.php/scrum_alliance/for_everyone/resources/scrum_articles/distributed_scrum_agile_project_management_with_outsourced_developmentAlso, to keep your daily scrums lively and proactive, here is another article:http://www.scrumalliance.org/index.php/scrum_alliance/for_everyone/resources/weekly_column/weekly_column_9_25_2006I hope this helps you!Stacia BroderickCertified ScrumTrainer
