- One issue with some units is that leaders for whatever reason don't exercise
either discipline or supervision.
My unit included at times.
The Eagle scout/Woodbadge/many awards etc. Philmont.... doesn't take the
place of regular hands on keeping after the boys.
Which is, at times, pretty miserable business. One SM here, is heartbroken
over his unit having cut down a tree on his watch. He can't figure out how
they did it. He's a good one too, but he has problems with the leaders below
him, who are, guess what, 'trained' but not clearly capable of making the
best possible decisions.
Preaching to the choir here. Like the Cub Scout motto: do your best.
