Last chance to register for this wonderful 16-hour certification course from
SOLO! Must have regitrations by May 3.
Taught with humor, skill, & inventiveness, this class teaches what you need
to know when conventional aid is more than a few hours away. Group sessions
are complemented by frequent trips to the outdoors, where learners taking their
turns as moulage-encrusted "victims" can be found moaning, bruised, broken, &
bleeding all over camp. You’ll learn personal preparedness, assessment & care
for specific injuries, improvisation techniques for use of what’s in your
backpacking gear (or your victim's, since it's his fault he's hurt <G>), skills
enabling you to provide longterm care in an outdoor environment, & evacuation
      techniques.

Learners should be at least age 16. Plan to camp at Greenough for the weekend
& bring your own food, cooking gear, camping gear, etc. Your backpacking gear
can be used (but will not be damaged) in the classes. You will need the usual
health form-- Class 3 if age 40+, class 1/2 if 16-39. Note that this is a
      nonsmoking venue & class.

Please 1) Tell your older Scouts & other Scouters about this great
      opportunity
      2) Get back to me ASAP -- maximum class size is 30
      3) Send me a check for $110 per learner ($140 for out-of-council)

      Yours in Scouting,
