BOY SCOUT AND GIRL SCOUT ADULT TRAINING
FOR RELIGIOUS EMBLEM OF ALL FAITHS

The Catholic Committee on Scouting for the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese will
hold an "Emblems of Faith" training class on Tuesday, February 3, 2004
promptly at 6:30 p.m. The training will be held at St. Mary's Church
Basement, Fifth Avenue, (across from Altoona High School) Altoona. The
course will cover Religious Emblems for all levels of Cub, Boy Scouts and
Girl Scouts. The training is geared for adults interested in helping our
youth scouts earn religious emblems of their chosen faith, not just
Catholic. Mr. Thomas Palchak, a Boy Scout Leader from Juniata Valley Boy
Scout Council and member of the Catholic Committee, will present the
      training session.

The Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown covers parts of nine scout councils. The
Boy Scout Councils are: Penn's Woods Council, Juniata Valley, Susquehanna,
Bucktail and Mason-Dixon. The Girl Scout Councils: Talus Rock, Hemlock,
      Shawnee, and Penn-Laurel.

There is no cost for the training and no registration required. Any
questions can be directed to Mrs. Claudia Reed, Committee Chair at (814)
      886-5817 or scoutingretreat@....
