      Lorie,

Perhaps your image files are too big? If you started with large, high
resolution, full color images but have shrunk them down to display as little
postage stamps, you still have large files to store and download. You can
use an image editing program to resave them as smaller files, and your
viewer won't be able to see a difference. Computer screens display at 72 to
96 dpi, so if you scanned the images at some higher resolution, such as 300
dpi, you might as well save them at a lower resolution. If you save the
images as .jpg, you can try increasing the compression. Most image editors
give you a preview of the changes, so you can see when you've increased the
      compression too far.

In general, any image file over 50KB should be checked to see if you can
shrink it. If you use FrontPage, there's a "squeeze" icon on the picture
editing toolbar that resamples images for smaller sizes.

      Hope this helps,

Can someone on this group tell me how to get a powerpoint up on the web
(with photos) that can be read on the web like the ones in the Baloo
training section? I am having space/filesize problems.
