Many people choose to travel to the Highlands for a summer break hoping to
find "world class music, the great out doors, good food and drink, and all
      in the best possible company"

Now I'm pleased to say all that is guaranteed for 12 halcyon days in July
      and August 2008.

I'm keen to let all music Fans know about this musical trail, our Festival
and the Little Feats appearance, can you help please? Please tell your
friends and neighbours post this to any-one you think would be interested

I'm keen to get the word out about The Belladrum Tartan Heart Fringe in
particular, which has been organised so there is a choice of gigs every
night of the week in one Highland musical hotspot or an other so people can
follow a magical musical trail around village halls, folk clubs, Highland
hostelries and famed watering holes to Belladrum. ......... Rob Ellen

The Tartan Heart Fringe sets the mood in the run up to Belladrum Festival
August 8 9 2008 and features not only the best of Highland talent but
artists from around the world too, from July 29th - August 9th and offers a
highland trail for the intrepid musical explorer around some of the musical
hotspots of one of the world historically musical sensitive lands.

Ever fancied experiencing a Ceilidh in a West Highland Village Hall, how
about some Bluegrass on the Isle of Muck, then perhaps take in a community
folk club, or village pub session, while traveling through the heart
stopping beauty on the way to exploring the east coast before visiting for
the famous Village Sunsets Sessions at Collieston near Aberdeen, then join
us on the banks of the River Ness in the grounds of The Maple Court Hotel
for our Annual charity Bar Bee Q and 8 acts for a day of great music, with
a choice of art centres, and historic venues with world class music on offer
along the trail. With all roads leading to Bella, Scotlands friendliest
family Festival, with her 6 Stages, over 100 acts, ( Including Jefferson
Starship, The Waterboys, The Lemon Heads, Idlewild, Justin Curry, Edwin
Collins ) circus and burlesque, alternative side shows, fantastic selection
of children's activities, comedy, theatre and even a mountain biking trail
around the beautiful Belladrum Estate on Saturday morning for those who
still have such energy left. Plan your own musical trail here
      ?p=1> http://www.nessmp3.com/music/bands/178/event.php?p=1.

The order of all these halcyon days is "world class music, the great out
doors, good food and drink, all in the best possible company"

Then at Bella please join Medicine Music at The Nessmp3.com Potting Shed
Stage, where artists and audience can socialise and music happens
spontaneously. The Potting Shed offers a place where Fringe and other
Festival artists can meet and collaborate where musical magic can manifest.

Caledonians finest The Andy Gunn Band
http://www.nessmp3.com/music/andygunnband When Andy Gunn rolls into town
with his band, the first in line for tickets are invariably other musicians.
This is a player who never fails to impress. He blows people away for a
living. From Virgin Records sponsored jamming on Beale Street, Memphis,
Tennessee in the early days to the remote Highland tours, this
guitarist-songwriter always touches with his unique brand of soul-fire! This
astounding home grown talent cooks up some electrifying Highland Voodoo
soup. When these guys hit the road, cobwebs disappear. You'd be advised to
bring along your seatbelt. These days he has some searingly hot new
sidekicks along for the ride, Including these days Blues Guru RetroSmith,
(harmonica) and Highland legend Tabs McCaskill .

      "Some of the spikiest shards of funk blues guitar," said Scotland on Sunday;

"probably the best acoustic slide guitarist in Scotland," said The Scotsman.

Aberdeen's Total Thrash Speed Folksters The Lorelei are highland favourites
and marquee masters, from headlined the last Ault Na Main Festival to
opening last years Belladrum Festival they are known for lighting the blue
      touch paper of any event.

The Lorelei have been described in many ways:

“The Lorelei have managed to create a new musical genre – Total Thrash Speed
It’s a wild and energetic sound with savage guitars mixed with acoustic
      Rock’n’Reel Magazine Issue19

“Though born of the folky, rootsy rhythms and acoustic afternoons spent
The Lorelei were always more urban energy than fisherman’s blues.”
      M8 1992

“ The Pogues and The Screaming Trees swaggering home drunk”
      Time Out 1994

“ The Waterboys after too much marching powder”
      Time Out 1995

“Truly contemporary, like some mental post-modern hardcore world music
      pathfinder general,
      the mix’n’match melody merchants.”
      The Scotsman 1995

“Live, there is no other band to touch them for a stomingly good gig, sort
      of like a punk ceilidh.”
      Evening Express 1994

““….Folk tinged with sub-pop guitar grunge is perhaps the best way to
      describe The Lorelei’s
unique and beautifully crafted sound. It’s a fusing of disparate genres
which looks like an impossibility on paper; live, however, the Lorelei’s
      music is compelling.”
      M8 magazine 1995

“Their music has been described “adrenalin driven anthems of urban energy
      born of folksy
rootsy rhythms and afternoon’s spent busking.”
      Scottish Music magazine 1995

The Marquee Dance is pay at the door

      The Race

Before you start to dust off and charge your lights, the race is the week
after the longest day of the year, so the sun don't set! If the sky is
clear, you'll get by with a headtorch.

It's £25 per person, teams are solos, two or four. Kids race in early
evening. This is the most northerly endurance race in the world. Similar to
the Strathpeffer without the darkness, the rain, the snow and the ice. And
the mud. And the wind. Puffer lite? Puff Baby? Basically it won't get dark
up here. We've also got a marquee with a bar and a live band playing to
entertain you between laps, and stop your support team from dozing off.

For all you one-gear fanatics the race incorporates the Scottish Singlespeed
      Champs too!

Places are limited to 200 riders and it's filling up fast so book now.

Email <mailto:info@...> info@... and give us the
      usual stuff:

      Name, address, email, phone number
Category: all male, all female, mixed?
      Your age
A team name (check out Strathpuffer 24
      <http://strathpuffer.co.uk/strathpuffer/event_strathpuffer.htm> for ideas).
We'll call you back to sort out payment.
