      Looking for any further information/ clarification for a John GRANT b.
      circa 1720 Scotland. He was a bard from Achnagoneron (Glenmorriston).

      He married Isabelle FERGUSON and they had two children born at Achlean/
      Achleathan:

      1. Archibald GRANT b. 1784
      2. Catherine GRANT b. 1792

      He was also know by some Gaelic names with rough transaltion in brackets
      (appreciate any corrections) :

      * Iain-mac-illeasbuig (John son of Archibald)
      * Iain-Ban-na-Pluic (blond/fair John)

      John joined the 42nd Regiment Foot around 1772 and was part of the siege
      of Gibraltar and other campaigns. He did not emigrate and retired to his
      native glen with a pension.
