re-new 2009 em Copenhagen

Don't miss it – re-new 2009 opens on Monday!
This year's edition of re-new starts on coming Monday 18, and we have at the last moment added some new and very exciting Danish acts to the program. Local heroes Spejderrobot, Nabo, Mikkel Meyer, Starmelt, nvsbl ppl, and Aslope are all playing in Musikcafeen in Huset i Magstræde. And if you want a glimpse of what is happening on the international scene, then there're plenty of more things to enjoy: Andrea Lange (D), Yoshihito Mizuuchi (J), Shlomit Lehavi (ISR), Kok & Deiman (NL), Robert Ladislas Derr (US), and so forth – worth checking out.
You can also enjoy the floating Monolith which will host audiovisuals from all over the world. The unusual screen resembles a true monolith with its unusual 4:9 dimensions – and it hangs in mid-air! Later in the week it will be used for distributed concerts with performers from New York and Stockholm. And local & Nordic artists shiftcontrol will make interactive installtions for it, plus several still unknown surprises…
The Festival pass costs DKK 75, but there free admission to the installations.
Also, remember we're hosting the conferences ICAD and CMMR – so if you're interested in the technology behind all these artistic endeavours, then that's where be. They take place Monday-Thursday at The Museum of Copenhagen, starting every day at 9:20. The daily schedule is very varied, and you can choose to attend for one day, or register for the whole period. Full registration includes free access to all concerts at the Festival.
re-new 2009 takes place in Copenhagen May 18-22, and is sponsored by Nordic Culture Fund, Danish Composers' Society, Aalborg University, Danish Arts Council, SAS, Cycling74, and Genelec.
The re-new 2009 scientific conferences ICAD / CMMR are organized jointly with Medialogy, Aalborg University.
