Any cuisine preference? What times are good? (for me, anything after 6pm is good, after 7pm would be less of a rush)

Howard also seems to really  like Japanese. It's not sushi, but Swish at Buffallo & Sahara is the best hot pot place I have ever eaten at (at least, it would be if American health inspectors allowed you to use the raw egg with your Sukiyaki), especially with their Shabu-Shabu. I say that having lived in Japan for a couple of years.

On the other hand, I am a drop dead mediteranean food fan, so personally, I'm good with that idea, too.

I forgot to mention that Buffet@Asia is also pan-asian, with Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Mongolian, etc., and also happens to be just plain good food. Merrill

After seven would probably work really well for most of us, I'd think.

As for restaurants, there are surprisingly few places in town that I
actually like, but I've got three places off the top of my head.

Memphis Championship Barbeque on Rainbow and Owens (I think), it's a
little expensive, but the portions are huge and the food is great.

Diamond China on either Valley View and Sahara, or Lake Mead and
Rampart. It's probably the best Chinese place I've ever eaten at, EVER.

And... shoot, I can't remember the name of it at the moment, but
there's a fantastic Japanese place next to the Regal Cinema on Sahara
and Rampart. The food there is reasonably cheap (13 bucks or so for a
three-piece combo plate), they've got good sushi, and tempura ice cream.

Of course, I'm naturally open to other ideas too. I've never eaten at
that Greek place you're talking about, and I've been looking for a
good Greek restaurant to take my girlfriend to when she's in town...

Mediterannean Cafe is located at Flamingo and Maryland Parkway
(Across from the Buffalo Exchange) on the UNLV Side of Maryland
Parkway. Its nestled into a cozy little strip mall.

On the locations note, I have heard lots of great suggestions (minus
sushi as I personally can't stand it: but am willing sit and order
some rice). I've gotten out my little black book, and written down
the places I havn't heard of.

I'm thinking places in Summerlin or Henderson should probably be
scrapped. I live in deep S.E. Henderson, so Summerlin is a fur clip
away, and I feel for the people who live in extreme N.W. Summerlin
too. Centrally located stuff would have the added benefit of probably
                        being close to Howard's Hotel.

That's definitely right in the middle of town. I think our best bets
in that case include some of the other restaurants others have listed,
Diamond China on Sahara and Valley View, or the Warm Springs location
of Memphis Championship BBQ. Everything else that I listed is a ways
out there in Summerlin, especially from the traffic around the Sahara.

Sorry I'm not listing the other restaurants by name, but I have a
horrible memory, and I haven't eaten at them to know them in the first
                                place. XD
