Re: Please read, two points
- Hi all,
1. Another reminder to all SCBWI published authors and illustrators
meeting the PAL membership criteria who are interested in school visits.
The Texas Library Association (TLA) is being held in Houston this year.
TLA is often cited (and rarely disputed as) the best state show in all
of the US. It lives up the adage “everything is big in Texas”.
Attendance is consistently over 7,000 librarians and exhibitors. This
show attracts all types of librarians but with the primary mix being
from school and public libraries. TLA offers unparalleled exposure and
opportunities to market your books and services to the library community.
Where else can you get your information in front of thousands of
librarians for only $40? If your goal is to book school visits and
speaking engagements you can't afford not to be in this year's Speakers
We were able to get an incredible deal on the printing. The guide will
be on slick paper, full color, 8 1/2" by 11". Each author/illustrator
will have a half page with their info, a photo and one of their book
covers featured. This format was used several years ago by a group of
Houston authors and illustrators to distribute at TLA. It received good
response and resulted not only in school visits for the participants,
but also in a booking for one of the listed authors to speak at a TLA
Details are on our site www.scbwi-houston.org Deadline to participate is
February 21, 2009.
